Framlingham College Prep School is a high-quality independent boarding and day school set in stunning surroundings of Brandeston, Suffolk. The school is absolutely thriving and prides itself on producing well-rounded, decent, articulate and well-educated children.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring individual to join our Pre-Prep department as a KS 1 Teacher from January 2022. This is on a two-term fixed term contract, with the possibility of an extension.

Job Purpose:

To teach a class all subjects apart from Music, Games, PE, Swimming and French.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Knowledge and Understanding

• Show good knowledge of the update strategies for Numeracy and Literacy in Early Years/Key Stage 1.

• Have a knowledge of the Letters and Sounds phonics programme.

• Be able to plan and assess pupils to ensure progress.

• A least good understanding of ICT and a high level of computer literacy.

2. Planning

• To ensure appropriate long term and medium terms are written.

• To plan Lesson Objectives and set targets for individual pupils.

3. Teaching and Managing Pupil Learning

• To enable cognitive skills development by providing appropriate tasks.

• To support problem solving skills by providing opportunities for developing investigative skills and encouraging pupils to seek a range of solutions.

• To support the development of metacognitive skills to enable pupils to become more aware of their own thinking as an active process.
