Senior HR Advisor

The Opportunity

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our central HR team. This dynamic generalist role demands comprehensive knowledge and expertise across all facets of the employee life cycle. In collaboration with the HR team, you will provide essential advice, support, frameworks, and guidance to all schools within our Group.

Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring consistent HR practices and fostering a supportive and efficient work environment across our educational network.

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Provide first line HR advice, guidance and support responding promptly and accurately to enquiries and resolving all matters on HR processes and procedures, whilst escalating more complex issues, as appropriate
  • To work closely with the HR team to provide coherent and consistent HR support across the entire Foundation
  • Deputise for the Head of HR as and when required
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HRIS (iTrent) and practices
  • To undertake HR projects as and when required
  • Respond to all requests via the HR support inbox
  • Comply with all statutory regulations in respect of safer recruitment, safeguarding and Health & Safety and Employment Law
  • Work closely with the Recruitment Manager to ensure smooth onboarding of candidates and support with volume recruitment of staff as and when required
  • Assist the Head of HR in implementing and communicating the annual incremental salary review process for all staff
  • Absence monitoring – process and actioning any necessary changes in payroll
  • Assisting /advising Heads /SLT on management of absence concerns

Qualifications and Skills;

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience (Desirable)

Experience and Knowledge;

  • High level of computer literacy, particularly iTrent, Outlook, Word, Excel (Essential)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience of creating new systems and processes to develop efficiency
  • Demonstrable experience in an HR advisory capacity in a busy HR department
  • Safer Recruitment Trained (Desirable)
  • Experience working within a school environment (Desirable)
  • Understanding of the Single Central Register (Desirable)
