Applications are invited for the role of Bursar at The Perse School Muscat. The school is due to open in late August 2026 and this is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Principal, David Cook (former Head of Merchant Taylors' and Repton School Dubai), shaping and establishing an outstanding school that will blend an exceptional Brisitsh approach to education, including the Pere Cambridge vision, Values and Standards, with the rich cultural traditions of Oman.
The Bursar will play a key role in establishing the school as well as in its day-to-day operations and its overall strategy. They will be the administrative leader and will be responsible for all non-teaching operations; they will also be responsible for recruiting and appointing the support staff team and overseeing the set-up of the processes, structures and procedures of the new school.
The successful candidate will be a people-focused leader with a postitive 'can-do' mindset, financial competence and entrepreneurial zeal and the flexibility to work within a dynamic new school enviornment. They will be collaborative, with experience of leading and managing teams in different international contexts to achieve service outcomes, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Applications are encouraged from candidates from a broad range of sectors who have a demonstrable commitment to education, strong financial and commercial skills, national or international partnership experience, and have particular strength in managing financial resources, capex and facilities management. Experience of the Middle East will be highly advantageous.
